A busy few months for Christina Phillips

Date

It's been a busy few months for one of our newest CDR members, Dr Christina Phillips:

Research Grants

Christina was awarded a QSteps grant to fund an investigation by an undergraduate placement.  The work will look at the analytics needs, use and perceptions of businesses via development of questionnaires and a data base of suitable companies.

External Roles

Christina took up a role as external examiner at Swansea University for their BSc Business Management Programme (Analytics).

Conferences

Christina presented her work on Human Centric Analytics at INFORMS Analytics Conference in Baltimore, USA.  The talk was one of thirty chosen from over a hundred submissions.  The conference is attended mainly by practitioners as well as academics, and this year had over 1000 participants. She also represented Leeds University Business School at the Meeting of Analytics Program Directors run by INFORMS in Baltimore.

Christina was also an invited discussant on a panel at the 9th Simulation Workshop (SW18) run by the Operational Research Society in cooperation with the INFORMS Simulation Society.  The panel discussion was around stakeholder engagement in simulation development.
