Dr. Sarah Jenkins: Winner of the Dean's Award for Research Impact Award (Early Career Winner)

Sarah Jenkins has been awarded the Dean’s Research Impact Award (Early Career) for her work in applied decision-making within the public sector.

She holds roles with the Met Office and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), where she applies behavioural science research to inform organisational risk communication and management, and operational decision-making.

Over the past few years, at the Met Office, she has conducted research on improving weather warnings to drive protective action, as well as helping to design and develop forecast products to support emergency decision making and response. At OPSS, she contributed to the design of the UK’s new product risk assessment methodology (PRISM) and is currently evaluating its use to help ensure consumer safety.

As well as government reports, her research has been published in the Journal of Risk Research and Scientific Reports, with papers to come in Risk Analysis.
